<li><strong>Look to help with your skill set first</strong> - if you are good at something offer to help people. Maybe that is reviewing someones website maybe it is connecting people for jobs. Whatever it is offer to help first.</li>

<p>Networks of people are always changing. That means your ability to get referrals and build a network of people that can help you is always changing and your ability to help them is always changing. So before you decide to not grow your network thing about what can happen in your network.</p>
<h3>In your network the following things can happen at anytime</h3>
<ul>
<li><strong>People will move</strong> - yes because of the Internet and everything they will still be a part of your network although they probably won&#8217;t be buying or selling a home with you if they move out of your area.</li>
<li><strong>People will leave this earth</strong> - You got it they will pass away and they permanently got out of your network and they won&#8217;t be able to help you anymore.</li>
<li><strong>People will get divorced -</strong> Things happen and people decide to separate. You probably will only be friends with one of them. Don&#8217;t give me the &#8220;I will be friends with both speech&#8221; because it just isn&#8217;t realistic. The fact is you know one better than the other.</li>
<li>
<h3>You will offend someone and they won&#8217;t want to hear from you - Like it or not you will eventually rub someone the wrong way. They will leave your network and while your probably won&#8217;t ever know it because they just won&#8217;t call you they will leave because of something you said, did, or maybe even that you were going to do.</h3>

<h3>Grow your network steadily over time</h3>
<p>So I am saying that you should just add anyone to your network? No of course not.
